Visualize Data

Charts, maps and embeds built from the whole data family.

The chart and map layer for climatedata, economicdata, electiondata and the other sites: ready-made visualizations, embeddable charts and shared map boundaries.

What you get

  • Plain files over HTTPS

Ready-made files at stable paths. No key or signup.

  • Versions you can cite

Every update gets a version id, and a pinned URL always returns the same data. The first version of each month is kept for good, so results stay reproducible.

  • Checked before publishing

Each update is validated against its contract. If a check fails, the last good version stays live.

  • Licenses up front

Every dataset names its source, its license, the exact credit line and whether commercial use is allowed.

  • Map boundaries

GeoJSON boundaries for US states, counties and 119th Congress congressional districts (Census 2025 cartographic boundary files at 1:20m and 1:5m) and world countries (Natural Earth 1:110m and 1:50m). Every feature's id is the location id the rest of the family uses (us-ca, us-county-06037, usa), so a map joins to any dataset by id. index.json lists every layer with its source, vintage and caveats.
